Day 22: The Good Things Guys...

It's officially 1 week to go to Christmas! I met up with one of my most special friends today and it was quite comical how the first few minutes of our very long overdue catchup consisted of pure and utter disbelief that we are actually at this point in the year!

She also very kindly reminded me that I need to keep on writing and sharing, and I was humbled when she remarked how my messages of positivity and hope are, and have an important place in the world. As you may have noticed, I have not written for the past few days and have been overwhelmed and exhausted by the stresses that surface at this time of the year - and I'm sure you can agree that this has been no ordinary year! In that, we often have moments of "what is my place in the world?" or "does my voice really count?"...

It's in realising that each of us are born as different, awesome and unique beings that indeed do have a place and space in the world. In these times of negativity and uncertainty, it's even more that we need hope and something to hold onto. We never know when, how or in what way our story could be that glimmer of hope that someone may need in their day or life.

So today's inspiration comes not just from me, but from the "Good Things Guy", an award-winning news website that mission to hunt down and report on the best Good News stories from around South Africa and around the world.

Since 2019, they've published an annual post titled "Listed: Every proudly South African accomplishment earned". 2022 is no different and with over 100 amazing achievements by ordinary South Africans just like you and me, we are certainly left with a sense of hope and awe and ultimately just inspired... Click here for the article.

So whether you've got a dream to be the next sports star or movie star, scientist or business magnate, read more about every day, ordinary people doing extraordinary things!

Till tomorrow then, be inspired. Be filled with hope and be kind and gentle to yourself as we head into the final leg of this very trying year 🙏

Much love always, Poonam
