And just like that, it's the last day of November of 2022! We know what this time of the year can do to us and those around you. So today's message of HOPE is taking a slightly more personal note to hopefully inspire and encourage you to do the same..
As most out there know, November is one of my favourite times of the year, especially as it's my BIRTHDAY month. It also happens to be my dad's birthday which is celebrated a day after mine, and usually has a lot of fanfare and celebration that surround these special days. Of course this year being the first one without him since his passing away in August brought things about in a slightly different way.
And so today, I'm taking some time out to reflect on the month that was. On the time that has passed by and acknowledge that even though there were many tough and dark and challenging and just plain hard times, there were also moments of light, love, laughter and mostly HOPE.
I celebrated my birthday in 2 cities, we observed dad's birthday with some of those closest to him, I have had the opportunity to engage with various people and parties in my personal and professional life - from family and friends to meeting the Premier of the Eastern Cape and other stakeholders as future development and investment in our beautiful province was shared. I got to commemorate and honour an amazing soul I had the privilege of calling my mentee, and now my friend, as she graduated from the Stellenbosch Business School Small Business Academy where I serve as a mentor. More than that however, I was able to celebrate me and that despite the challenges, there is always HOPE to be and become better for oneself but especially for those around you..
Today, I encourage you to take some time out to reflect. Look at the month gone by, and acknowledge those wins both big and small. What made you happy? What made you sad? What moved you or frustrated you or impacted you and how has that helped you? Remember, everything happens for a reason, even though we don't always see it that way! I look forward to hearing and seeing what you learnt... and to greet you tomorrow in the final month of the year!
P.s. Here are some snaps of my month below!
Much love always, Poonam
